About Chris
Chris Kostick is an artist in the central Maryland area who works in oil and watercolor, but experiments with other medium also. He loves to work with small (4x6) to medium (18x24) size surfaces for finished paintings/drawings because it allows him to work quickly and achieve that "I'm done" feeling more often.
Chris is a self-taught artist who practices his craft in the genre of representational art with a hint of impressionism thrown in. His use of vibrant colors give his paintings a richness and attraction that is treasured by many
Chris does not focus on one subject matter. As he says, "There are too many things to see and do to only paint one subject." From seascapes to mountainscapes to still-lifes to figure studies, Chris believes there is something for everyone to enjoy
Artist's
Statement

I do not believe I'm overly pretentious, obnoxious, or snobbish when it comes to my art. By that I mean I'm not trying to be political, spiritual, or push my views on to others. I paint to simply enjoy the process and hopefully the results. My goal is for someone else to look at my art and enjoy what they see also. If there's meaning in that to the viewer, then great. If there's simply the joy of experiencing a scene that moves them, then that's wonderful too. That's it; no hidden agendas. If I can bring just a little bit of happiness through something I created, then it's all been worth it.
